Professors Ashwani and Sneh Lata Pareek work to find new ways for crops to survive in drought and low water (high salinity) areas. This is not just a problem for India, but one that is being seen around the world. But for Professor Ashwani Pareek, this is personal: His home village is one of the areas hardest hit by these changing climatic conditions. Together with his wife, their dream is to breed new varieties of crops that can withstand these conditions, so that farmers in his home village can once again grow crops and vegetables.
