National Crops Resources Research Institute's (NaCRRI) Pamela Paparu is a PEARL program scientist working to solve the issues of bean root rot in East Africa. Beans are a food security crop in the region and a staple for female farmers. Pamela and her team are working to produce a root rot-resistant bean variety that will greatly impact the lives of many farmers and their families.
